Donald Trump will be the person responsible for presenting the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy to the winning team’s captain after winning the 2024 US Presidential Elections. The 2026 World Cup final, which will be held at the MetLife Stadium in New York City, will probably witness a major Trump family presence including the footie fanatic in Barron Trump.
Barron Trump, Donald’s youngest son, only turned 18 earlier in March 2024 and is pursuing a Business degree in New York University. The 18-year-old has even been credited for playing a role in Trump’s US election success by acting as his unofficial social media advisor.
The towering 6’9’ Trump reportedly keeps a low profile in his university campus and mainly interacts through gaming, but it seems that he’s grown really fond of the sport of football (or Soccer).
His love for the sport started stemming from Trump’s first tenure as the President of the United States. Barron was sometimes even pictured by photographers playing with a football all alone in the White House garden. What is interesting is that he appears to be a childhood Arsenal fan and has even been seen wearing the Gunners’ merchandise over the years.
Trump’s presidential campaign for his first tenure allegedly had Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke donate nearly £1 million into it, so there’s an interesting link between his family and the club. Barron has liked to keep a low profile from himself and rarely makes public appearances, focusing more on his education and working behind the scenes.
His dad, Donald, is seemingly glad that Barron chose to follow a sport like Football over American Football (Rugby) because of the damage the latter sport can cause. He even spoke about that in an interview with CBS reporter Margaret Brennan in 2019, stating: “I wouldn’t (let Barron play American Football). And he actually plays a lot of soccer. He’s liking soccer. And a lot of people, including me, thought soccer would probably never make it in this country, but it really is moving forward rapidly.

Barron also seemingly loves to play soccer as much as he can, despite not really pursuing it on a professional level. Recently an old video made the rounds on social media showing him having a kickabout in an amateur game with some kids.
What really makes Barron Trump stand out is his enormous height, as he’s quite literally towering over every other kid he’s playing with.
It’s probably that height that holds him back from being much skilled with the ball, with Barron being quite average (to say the least) with his football ability.
He’s even been compared to Liverpool legend Peter Crouch because of his similar towering height and skinny figure.
Barron hasn’t been seen playing that much of football at NYU since joining the university, but it’s clear that he prefers football more than any other popular sports in America and might look to promote it more during his father’s second tenure as the President of the United States.
