Dominik Szoboszlai is one of Liverpool’s most talented and stylish players. Since his transfer from RB Leipzig in 2023, the Hungarian has made 69 appearances and scored 10 goals for the Reds. Along with evolving as a player, Szoboszlai has also had evolving haircuts through different periods of his career. It’s almost impossible to argue with Men in Blazers’ description of him, “the gent with the best hair.”
Szoboszlai’s early years at Red Bull Salzburg saw him sport a short, sharp fade—a classic look for a young and upcoming baller. After 3 years in Austria with Salzburg, he moved to sister club RB Leipzig in 2021, where he came into the spotlight for bigger moves in Europe. Dominik credits a lot of his growth to his time at Salzburg, “I’ve learned almost all I can at [Salzburg’s] academy; when I came from Hungary I had talent, but without the work at the academy, I wouldn’t have come this far.” he said speaking to BBC Sport.
As he matured at RB Leipzig, his hairstyle evolved into a textured, side-brushed look, a more polished style. Apart from this, the fade was also accompanied with a messy mop on top, a relaxed look seen mostly during training sessions. Szoboszlai even cracked a joke about his meticulous hair routine and look after an offside decision narrowly went his way thanks to his neat side parted hair. “Luckily, I was at the hairdresser’s yesterday.”
It was at this stage in his career that Szoboszlai was getting noticed by bigger clubs in Europe and had watchful eyes, especially in the Premier League. The Hungarian bagged 20 goals in 91 appearances during his time in Germany, and one was one of the key reasons to Leipzig’s consistency and success during that period.
But in recent times Szoboszlai has strayed away from the fade and embraced a sleek, slicked-back hairstyle that seems to have been crafted by BarbersNo1, the go-to barber spot for most Liverpool players. The store posted a picture of Szoboszlai on December 13th showing of his fresh cut. He also gifted them a signed jersey of his, adding to what is for sure an impressive collection of jerseys the store already has.
BarbersNo1 has styled the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Kostas Tsimikas, and Luis Diaz and has taken to Instagram displaying their looks as for everyone.
Dominik’s style and trim choices are impressive, especially since he admitted not having a fashion idol of any sort in a video with Pro Direct, “I don’t have a style or fashion icon; I don’t really watch them.”
For fans aiming to emulate his style, BarbersNo1 offers haircuts at an affordable £16, making it an affordable option to channel Szoboszlai’s new look.
