Jason Tindall has gotten back among the headlines lately because of his behavior in certain Newcastle United matches. The Magpies’ assistant manager was sent off in their recent 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Boxing day for being part of a ’20-man melee’ in the St. James Park tunnel and doing something offensive to the opposition people.
Tindall has gained notoriority for arguably being the most eye-catching assistant manager in the Premier League. He loves getting in the thick of things in the touchlines in an effort to get the camera’s attention upon him. The 47-year-old might be this animated character on the pitch, but he normally likes to be a reserved person with his family.
The Newcastle United no.2 has two children that he shares with his wife Claudine Tindall, with whom he’s been with since he played Bournemouth as a player. Jason and Claudine got married in June 2003. Mrs. Tindall is a Bournemouth local herself who has grown up as a big fan of the Cherries and devoted the majority of the last two decades supporting her husband and looking after the family.
The couple are proud parents to Sienna (born in 2006) and Levi (2010). The latter child was actually enrolled into the Bournemouth youth academy during Jason’s stint as their assistant manager (and manager for a short period in 2020-21 season). That is probably because Catherine wanted to see her child play for the Cherries after seeing her husband excel at the club.
Unfortunately for Catherine, she hasn’t been able to live out her life in Bournemouth due to her husband having to change clubs. He iniitlaly did so in 2011 during a short stint as Eddie Howe’s assistant coach for Burnley from January of that year to October 2012.
The family had to move up to Burnley, but Jason credited his wife for embracing the change like a champ and stated: “When you are in football you have to deal with what is put in front of you. You can’t guarantee where you are going to be from one year to the next, so, in that sense, the only difference we found was probably the climate! It was a lot colder up there and seemed to rain a lot! That affects your mood from day to day, but I don’t feel I have changed as a person because of living up there.
“But my wife is a Bournemouth girl and perhaps it was harder for her moving away from home. She did, though, and she did fantastically in terms of building a life for herself up there. She made a lot of friends and my kids settled into a fantastic school. They made huge strides and, although it was different, so many good things have come from it.”
Claudine is generally a pretty reserved person who does not like to gloat much about what is going on in her personal life. She has kept her Instagram account, where she has just over 450 followers, private to ensure fans don’t get a whiff of what is happening in the Tindall family’s personal space. Claudine also has just over 220 followers on her Twitter (X) account, but has not made a post in it since Jason left Bournemouth in early 2021.
She is a homemaker who is focused on the children’s upbringing and ensure that they get the best possible parenting, especially with Jason being away for long periods due to his work in football management. Claudine likes to travel to watch her husband’s team’s matches whenever possible and is his biggest supporter. She often loved to make posts on Twitter to show her love for Jason, whose Twitter account has been deactivated to escape criticism from trolls in the platform.
Claudine does like to mingle with the other Newcastle United WAGS (wifes and girlfriends) and shares a friendship with the players’ partners. They like to travel for big matches together too, as they did for Newcastle’s meeting against AC Milan in the 2023-24 Champions League campaign.
Mrs. Tindall probably gets a bit more free time these days with their first-born child being an adult and young Levi also in his teen years. But she seems to enjoy living a discreet, quiet life as a homemaker and be a strong pillar to support the emotional Jason and keep him fully motivated to perfectly fulfill his role as Newcastle’s assistant manager.
