Two is greater than one. Hence, it doubles the fun. But at the same time, it doubles the risk factors too.
To double or not to double on the Forest defence, is certainly a big question at the moment, in terms of FPL prospects.
Ola Aina has probably broken all betting equations for the highest scoring defender in FPL after gameweek20. He happens to be a real disruptor to all the expert predictions that filled up the FPL transfer market before the season started. Aina has many routes when it comes to scoring points in the Fantasy Premier League 2024-25. He gets clean sheets and occasionally finds himself on the scoresheet as well.
Aina currently owns the top spot with 95pts, with an astonishing tally of eight clean sheets. He has scored two goals in this campaign.
He is already a part of the template with close to 25% ownership. Aina’s performance doesn’t justify his £5.2m price-tag. Apart from securing nine clean sheets, he has also registered two goals in this campaign.
Forest keeper Matz Sels is in splendid form and the Forest defence appears rock solid. Nottingham defenders continue to get benefited from clean sheet points alongside adding to their numbers with positive attacking returns.
Meanwhile, Forest faces Southampton and Bournemouth following the Liverpool acid-test in GW21. Nuno’s men have successfully accomplished four consecutive clean sheets over the last four gameweeks. Considering the ongoing Fantasy Premier League 2024-25, this is no mean feat!
Therefore, it calls for a doubling up of the defensive assets from Nottingham Forest. And there are two great options, which cost even less than Aina. Both of them provide a superb value for money.
Milenkovic is a cheaper route to the now seemingly impenetrable Forest defence. He costs £4.8m and is owned by 7.8% of the FPL managers.
The Serbian defender has also two goals under his name alike Aina. He possess superb attacking threat and has a solitary assist in this campaign.
Another Forest defender who can be very effective in the coming weeks, is none other than Murillo. With an even lower price of £4.6m, the Brazillian defensive asset can be found in only 2.9% of the FPL teams.
Murillo has a goal to his name with zero assists though. However, one must note that he missed the Everton match in gameweek19 due to injury.
You may add any of these two along with Aina to make a formidable defensive line up in FPL. Hope it pays off. But having all three from the Forest defence, might be tempting but it’s a very dangerous alley to walk into.
