Guardiola’s City empire was falling apart like a house of cards until a while ago. But has he got his new trump card to salvage the season?
Savio, also known as Savinho, who arrived in the summer from Troyes, has smacked 27pts in the last two games. At a price of £6.5m, you can own this Brazilian winger.
Savinho can be a true differential, as he finds himself in less than 4.5% of the FPL teams, as of now. A man of searing pace and clipped crosses, Savio has managed to beat the ‘Pep Roulette’ and secure three successive starts in a row.
In these three encounters, the ex-Genoa man has registered xGIs (expected goal involvement) of 0.56, 0.66, and 0.74. Therefore, Savio’s underlying numbers are quite impressive.
Also, Manchester City seems to be turning things around, after a mid-season debacle. Hence, it makes Savinho an even more exciting pick, as he is the cheapest route to the City attack. Halaand, Foden, De Bruyne — every one of them cost way more than him.
Savinho has one goal and seven assists in the ongoing campaign with his boss being all praise for him —
“Having a left foot on the left side like old, vintage football, helps the strikers we have. The second (goal) at Leicester and today, we had two or three (chances created). Now we have something special and brilliant that helps the team. (Savinho) scored a goal, which was a little lucky, but after the two brilliant assists — the second and third are really, really good — I’m so happy for him. He deserves to play.”
Feel free to bring him in as he plays Ipswich in GW22 after an away meeting with Brentford this gameweek. City has a tough run of fixtures from GW23 to GW28. But Savio should be okay, as things look good from an attacking perspective.
