FPL Forest Trio

FPL Thought: Is the Nottingham Forest Trio a Must-Have Now?

FPL, Nottingham Forest

Forest has been a great source of resources for us, since time immemorial. It seems that it doesn’t change with the Fantasy Premier League 2024-25.

Nottingham Forest, who became successive European Cup winners in the late 70s and early 80s, appears to be back in search of some glory again. Nuno’s men are having a dream run, while we are halfway into the season.

Forest is currently third in the league table and the stocks of its assets are rising with every gameweek. Now, let’s check if the following Nottingham Forest trident is a must-own in FPL at the moment.

Matz Sels (£5m)

The Belgium international currently tops the list of highest-scoring goalkeepers with a tally of 97pts. Between gameweek 17 & 20, Sels kept four clean sheets on the trot with a collective haul of 30pts. There was also Brentford’s well-oiled attacking unit among the opponents, who were kept at bay by Sels and co.

Apart from the nine clean sheets in twenty-one outings, the Forest no.1 who turns 33 next month, is also credited with an assist which came against Leicester in GW9.

With Southampton next and Bournemouth, Brighton, and Fulham in the following three, look no further for your long-term goalkeeping solution.

Chris Wood (£6.9m)

Touch Wood, you may strike gold. Chris Wood is having a fairytale season in fantasy 2024-25. Going into gameweek 22, he has as many as 123pts in his locker room.

The New Zealand international has scored thirteen goals and provided an assist in twenty-one appearances so far. With more than 36% of the FPL managers opting for him, Wood is already a part of the template.

He will surely add a lot of attacking returns to his tally in the next few gameweeks, beginning with a plum fixture at home against bottom-placed Southampton.

Having secured 29pts in the last three games, Wood can give Salah a serious run for money in the golden boot race.

Anthony Elanga (£5.2m)

Though Ola Aina remains the highest scoring defender in the points tally, Elanga 2.0 is just unputdownable. The Sweden international didn’t manage to secure a place in the regular playing XI at Manchester United.

However, he seems to have been reincarnated by Nuno at the Forest setup. Elanga has fetched 45pts over the last six matches. Considering his budget price-tag and the momentum Forest is carrying at the moment, Elanga is a recommended buy.
