Jurgen Klopp is currently enjoying a new role at Red Bull as their Global Head of Soccer. In this role, he’s working with Red Bull’s clubs around the globe to infuse his ‘heavy metal’ attacking style into the DNA of teams like RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.
Klopp is also helping scout quality young talents for the RB teams. The German gaffer has already insisted he won’t be taking coaching roles with any Red Bull clubs. He is biding his time in deciding the perfect next project for him to return to football management after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Well, a rather stunning rumour is now linking his next potential coaching destination to be at Juventus. Indeed, La Stampa journalist Enrico Testa claims that Italian businessman Andrea Agnelli has eyes on Klopp if able to return to Juventus as a majority shareholder.
Agnelli was forced to give up ownership of Juventus in 2022 after the club fell into a financial controversy. However, Testa claims that Agnelli would now like to personally complete the majority takeover of Juventus from his cousin John Elkann and an investment fund (who hold 65% of the ownership stake).
Andrea is hoping to get financial help from an American company and there’s a chance that he gets help from Red Bull to complete the takeover. If able to actually complete the takeover, then Agnelli has big plans for Juventus.
A major shocker he wants to pull off is to bring Jurgen Klopp aboard as Thiago Motta’s replacement. Motta has come under pressure after Juventus’ recent 4-0 loss to Atalanta at home, the first time they’ve lost by this margin since 1974! The Bianconeri are out of the Champions League and not in running for the Serie A title anymore.
That is why Agnelli wants to bring in an experienced boss as Klopp to help Juventus win major titles again. Even if the Italian businessman might be interested in the German boss, there is no evidence that Jurgen would be eager to a move to Italy.
Klopp already stated many years ago that he wants at least one year’s sabbatical from coaching after leaving Liverpool. In 2020, Jurgen also seemingly ruled out ever coaching a Serie A team, saying: “I will not come to Italy, because I want to travel after my career. I love your country, the weather, the fantastic food. But to do my job, I will need to know the language and my Italian is not very good.”
At this point, the rumours of Klopp being wanted at Juventus seems to be one made up to excite the dejected Bianconeri faithful and strengthen Agnelli’s chances of returning as the majority owner.
